Grant Myers psychiatric nurse practitioner

Grant Myers APN, PMHNP-BC

Experience

I have worked in various roles since graduating college and have over 20 years’ experience in the field of mental health.

I have worked as an aide in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, as a nurse locally in both psychiatric and medical hospitals, as a nurse practitioner in outpatient clinics and in sub-acute rehabs, assisted living and nursing facilities.

Working with thousands of individuals in different capacities has provided me unique insight about how important it is to be humble, respectful, and empathetic.

Philosophy

Trust

You need a provider you can trust. I believe that the therapeutic relationship between you and your provider is the most important factor in providing excellent care.

Collaboration

Working together is the most effective way to get the best treatment possible and the quickest way to recover.

Compassion

You are the expert on how your body feels and you need someone who is willing to listen and understand you.

Personalized Treatment

Although I believe a combination of both therapy and medication is the most effective treatment, you need a treatment plan that fits your needs. I work with clients who are only seeking medication management as well as clients who prefer a combination of medication management and therapy. You are unique and deserve a treatment plan that is personally tailored. Together we will come up with a plan that is right for you.

Integrative Medicine

I understand medication may not be the answer for everyone. I am well aware of the risks and benefits of medication and the possible side effects. Alternative and contemporary therapies are effective in treating most disorders and we can discuss options that do not involve medications. Improving your diet and learning simple therapeutic tools can be extremely effective in decreasing your stress, reducing anxiety, and improving your mood.
